Maize

Maize is known in some English speaking countries as a cone.It is a large grain plant domesticated by indigenous people.The leafy stalk produces ears which contain the grain,which are seeds called kernel.maize kernel are often used in cooking as a starch.the six major types of a maize are dent,Flint,pod,popcorn,flour and sweet.The maize plant is often 2.5m in height,the stem has the appearance of a bamboo cane.maize constitute a staple food in many regions of the world.And it has become Africa's most important staple food crop as well.
